trimester course

"When mothers are healthy and well, families are healthy and well.

When families are healthy and well,

communities are healthy and well -

- and this concentric ring of wellness continues to move outward to encompass the whole of Earth.

In optimally taking care of the Mothers,

we are taking care of the future generations."

A series of 5 meetings (4 during pregnancy and 1 after giving birth) ONLINE or IN PERSON, dedicated to expectant couples and their families to prepare for the fourth trimester, the first weeks after giving birth.

Planning for the fourth trimester is essential to ensuring the new mother's long-term health.

Known as the Cuarentena in Mexico, the Golden Month in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Sacred Window in Ayurveda, the first 6 weeks after the birth of a baby are regarded worldwide as a special and ESSENTIAL time to avoid mother's psycho-physical exhaustion and maintain health.

By appropriately planning for the postpartum period, families can be prepared to fully support the new mother-baby dyad.

Adequate, physiological care can reduce rates of perinatal mood disorders, promote a strong attachment bond with the infant, facilitate breastfeeding, prevent pelvic organ prolapse, prevent autoimmune disorders, and accelerate physical recovery.

Classes will be held online or in person over four weekends;

Attendance at all lessons is strongly recommended.

Online classes will NOT be recorded.

This course is designed to be attended by mamas AND at least one member of their support system (partner, friends, family, etc.), so that pregnant maman can concentrate on integrating the information and don't have the task of communicating it to other people.

THE 5 ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS FOR POSTPARTUM HEALTH THAT WE WILL EXPLORE WILL BE:

  • The science behind REST : to safeguard the new mother's pelvic and hormonal health,

  • The importance of ADEQUATE NUTRITION : for the short and long term well-being of women, for milk production and mental health,

  • The value of BODYWORK : for the integration of the birth experience, detoxification and tissue healing,

  • The wisdom of WARMTH : to facilitate physical healing and increase oxytocin,

  • The value of COMMUNITY : what this might look like for you, your family and your specific needs.

Our fifth and final meeting will be held after each family has had their baby, to celebrate the birth together and welcome the little ones who have arrived.
